Just over five weeks to go until this year’s Thatcham Classic and this year we will be aiming to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We have a number of raffle prizes on offer so far, including the chance to win an illustration of you and your classic by the excellent Guy Allen (www.guyallen.co.uk).
The show will run from 10am until 3pm on Saturday 12 October and we suggest that for more regular updates you visit our facebook page athttp://www.facebook.com/thatchamclassic

Summer is finally here so it’s time to start planning the 2013 Thatcham Classic Car Show. This year, the show will take place on Saturday 12 October and will, once again, aim to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Once again the show will be free to attend – both for visitors and those wishing to show their cars, but we will be trying to increase our fund-raising efforts so your support is valued as always!
Watch for more announcements over the coming months and find us on Facebook for more regular updates.
Hope to see you there!

With the sixth Thatcham Classic kicking off at 10am tomorrow (Saturday 13 October), you’ll be pleased to hear that the forecast is looking great and a cracking autumn day looks likely. We’ve checked the state of the show ground as well, and despite recent rain it looks like the surface is firm enough to cope with the influx of classics. So, we hope to see you and your cars there and that you will also join us in supporting our chosen charity (Macmillan Cancer Support), and drop a few coins (or notes!) into the collection bucket. See you tomorrow!

Only a few days to go now until the 2012 Thatcham Classic on Saturday 13 October. Even the sun looks like it may make an appearance so time to get polishing and we will see you there with your classics. The Classic & Sports Car team will be there as well, and this year we have a special Car of Show award that will be chosen and presented by the team in the afternoon.
Just a reminder that the show runs from 10am until 3pm, is completely free (although donations to our charity – Macmillan Cancer Support, are encouraged), and there is no need to book: just turn up when you feel like it!
The location can be found on Google Maps by following this link: http://tinyurl.com/d9b98e9
See you there!

Less than two months to go until this year’s Thatcham Classic. Food and toilets are booked (important!), and we have confirmations rolling in for attendance. It would be great to get as many cars on the field as possible so we can top last year’s figure and importantly, all money raised from voluntary donations on the day will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. For those of you who don’t know, the show this year will be in the usual location: Dunstan Green in Thatcham, Berkshire.
This link should take you to the location, but if in doubt then it is at the junction of Harts Hill Road and the A4 in Thatcham. Thatcham is approximately 5 minutes east of Newbury and 15 minutes west of Reading.

Those who were intrigued by the addition of a curry stall at last year’s show (due to a last-minute cancellation from the caterers already booked), will be pleased to know that normal service will be resumed this year.
As the name suggests, Brodies Coffee will be supplying hot beverages, while Terry Lister’s Burger Van makes a welcome return to the showground. Terry will be on site and ready to serve bacon baps from 9am for those arriving early and will be in attendance throughout the day.
If you fancy something a little more civilised then there are also a good number of pubs within walking distance that serve food.

It may well only be May, but we already have bookings for the 2011 show on 8 October. The latest comes from the Fiat 500 Club who will be attending with a group of cars. I’ve always yearned for an early 500 since spotting several restoration projects in Spain several years ago. Maybe one day…
