Well, it’s only just over a month until the next Thatcham Classic Car Show on 8 October. Remember to spread the word – entry is free and any interesting or classic vehicle is welcome to turn up. See you there!
One month to go!
September 6, 2011Show location
August 15, 2011For those of you who don’t know, the show this year will be in the usual location: Dunstan Green in Thatcham, Berkshire.
This link should take you to the location, but if in doubt then it is at the junction of Harts Hill Road and the A4 in Thatcham. Thatcham is approximately 5 minutes east of Newbury and 15 minutes west of Reading.
Food, glorious food
May 20, 2011Those who were intrigued by the addition of a curry stall at last year’s show (due to a last-minute cancellation from the caterers already booked), will be pleased to know that normal service will be resumed this year.
As the name suggests, Brodies Coffee will be supplying hot beverages, while Terry Lister’s Burger Van makes a welcome return to the showground. Terry will be on site and ready to serve bacon baps from 9am for those arriving early and will be in attendance throughout the day.
If you fancy something a little more civilised then there are also a good number of pubs within walking distance that serve food.
2011 bookings coming in!
May 13, 2011Date for the 2011 Thatcham Classic
October 14, 2010Missed the donation bucket?
October 13, 2010If you missed the charity bucket and would still like to make a donation to our chosen benefactor (Cancer Research), then you can now do so at our justgiving page. Pop along to http://www.justgiving.com/thatchamclassic and dig deep – your generosity is much appreciated.
Upload your photos to our Flickr group
October 13, 2010You can now upload your photos of this year’s Thatcham Classic to our Flickr group. Either click on the gallery link at the bottom right of this page, or pop along to http://www.flickr.com/groups/thatchamclassic/ and get uploading! Naturally, by posting your images you give permission for them to be displayed on this website but we hope you will share your pictures of the day.
To pay or not to pay?
October 12, 2010We pride ourselves on the fact that Thatcham Classic is an entirely non-profit making event. However, we are keen to increase the amount of money made for charity. The traditional donations bucket seems to be a little hit and miss so the question is: should we sell entry tickets in order to guarantee a minimum donation? Say £3 for instance. Would that put people off? Let us know by commenting…
2010 Thatcham Classic – a thank you!
October 12, 2010A big thank you to all those who took the time and effort to come along to the 2010 Thatcham Classic. We ended up with around 220 classic vehicles on the showground, and despite the sun not turning up as promised, a good day seemed to be had by all. Already we are planning the 2011 show and would welcome your comments and suggestions (polite ones please!). Hopefully we will be able to confirm the date in the next couple of months. Martin Port, Thatcham Classic.
